DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Advises students and other passengers of appropriate behavior.
- Assesses incidents, complaints, accidents and/or potential emergency situations.
- Assists students and other passengers loading and unloading from buses in both emergency and normal transportation.
- Cleans assigned vehicles, both interior and exterior.
- Conducts emergency evacuation drills.
- Drives school bus/s.
- Fuels assigned vehicle.
- Informs other school personnel, parents, etc. of events and/or practices.
- Performs pre and post trip inspections to ensure safety of the bus.
- Prepares documents and reports.
- Reports observations and/or incidents according to policies and procedures.
- Responds to inquiries from students, parents, other school personnel, etc.
- Supervises students and other passengers during transit.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of state and District transportation policy and procedures
- Knowledge of safety practices and emergency evacuation procedures as related to transportation.
- Ability to consistently lift 40 pounds.
- Ability to obtain Bus Driver’s License and CDL
- Clearance of a pre-employment drug screening.
- Clearance of a pre-employment physical
- Clearance of Criminal Justice Fingerprint and a Background check.
- Ability to obtain CPR/First aid Certification.
- Ability to pass physical capacity test.
